Your soul just wants to create, let it.
Technique: fluid painting
Thinning element: water and coconut oil hair serum
Canvas type: Artist Loft Level 1 Back Stapled Canvas
Paint type: Craft Smart acrylic paint & Artist Loft acrylic paint.
Paint colors: Silver, navy, and teal.
Lesson: Add more water to the paint!
Art doesn’t have rules. Isn’t that amazing? We will live our lives by rules, but art doesn’t believe in them. You can learn the techniques, not rules. You can learn the styles, nope, not rules. You can even learn the fundamentals, and still no rules.

Like a river this painting just flows; no restrictions only creativity. This painting started with a base coat of silver, because you can’t go wrong with metallic paint! While the first layer was drying I mixed up my colors. At first, I used paint and a few drops of coconut oil, however this made my paint thicker. I added water to account for this thickening. I poured both colors and used a hair dryer to mix them.
Mixing the colors was the longest part of the process. How do you know when to stop? That’s the beauty of it, you stop when you want. You add more color if you want. You can mix until it’s a mess if you want. I added some more silver on top of the blue, to tie in the background. On top of that I added a little glitter, because life needs more glitter and less bitter. At the end I added some embellishments, because who doesn’t want to be extra sometimes.

The important things I learned from this painting can be boiled down to…
1. Art has no rules.
2. Coconut oil creates awesome cells in the paint.
3. Add more water to the paint to make it flow better.
4. More glitter = less bitter.
5. Be extra, add the embellishments.
